Poems in a Pandemic: TwentyTwenty

TWENTYTWENTY
by Ed Walker

This
is my job

it is not
a career

I break shit
I fix shit

in this rare air
we’re breathing

I’m waiting for your call,
chickadees, owl, vultures

but it’s your call
why I’m still here

watching out
for the givers,

and the takers
