Our Changing Environment
Guilford Poets Guild’s 20th Anniversary Anthology

Edited by Edwina Trentham

The Guilford Poets Guild is a group of poets from the Connecticut shoreline who meet regularly to share poems and promote the love and engagement of poetry within the community. Our Changing Environment celebrates the Guild’s 20th anniversary, and presents selected poems from 48 well-respected local poets including Guild members and the 2018 Guilford High School Poetry Contest winners.

Jane Hirshfield, in her book Ten Windows: How Great Poems Transform the World, offers us this insight: “Good art is a truing of vision, in the way a saw is trued in the saw shop, to cut more cleanly. It is also a changing of vision. Entering a good poem, a person feels, tastes, hears, thinks, and sees in altered ways.” The poems in this anthology offer us this gift, this “truing of vision,” this opportunity to experience the world in “altered ways.” — EDWINA TRENTHAM
